Man Treats Multiple Sclerosis As Stepping Stone Instead of Stumbling Block
He woke up the day before Thanksgiving in 2008 without any feeling on the right side of his body. The diagnosis? Multiple Sclerosis.
Netherton decided right then and there that he would treat the disease as a stepping stone instead of a stumbling block.
"Perspective is everything," said Netherton. "I don’t get up and go, what can happen?"
Netherton developed an app called, "So You Think You’re A Server." It’s a game that costs 99-cents to play. Netherton gives the proceeds to the MS Society.
Netherton is also motivated each day by the love for his family. He has two children, who he adores. He knows he has to always be there for his kids.
"If I’m in a wheelchair, I’m still going to be dad. That’s not going to change," said Netherton.
If you visit the Outback Steakhouse in Hamburg in Lexington, Kentucky, look for Terry Netherton. He’ll be easy to find. Look for the guy with the infectious smile, positive attitude and huge heart.
