Man Stopped for Speeding Arrested on Drug Charges
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man pulled over for speeding on I-75 in Whitley County ended up in jail on drug charges, according to State Police.
Investigators say a Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement officer pulled over the driver of a commercial vehicle near the 15 mile marker Wednesday around 4:30 p.m.
State Police say 50-year old David Davis, of Unicoi, Tennessee, was arrested and charged for driving under the influence of drugs.
Investigators say after a voluntary admission, the officer found prescription Oxycodone that wasn’t in a proper container, synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an unknown powder believed to be other controlled substances.
Davis was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center facing a half-dozen charges, according to KSP.
