Man shot in Lexington, Police search for suspects

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say they’re still trying to piece together exactly what happened Monday evening that left one man shot and two others injured in a robbery.

Police say they responded to a reported shooting-robbery around 7:00 p.m. near the CVS Pharmacy and Rent-A-Center near New Circle Road and North Limestone Street.

Police say two, possibly three suspects approached a car in the parking lot behind the CVS Pharmacy and shot one of the car’s occupants in the shoulder during the robbery.

Police say when the driver of the car tried to drive off, the car went over an embankment into the Rent-A-Center lot where it came to rest due to the damage to the vehicle.

Police say the other two people in the car had minor injuries, but not from the wreck.  Investigators say they’re still trying to figure out how the people were injured, but say it could have been from an altercation.

Investigators say the shooting victim’s wounds were not life-threatening.  Detectives are talking to witnesses, the victims and checking for security camera video or images from area businesses to help them in their ongoing probe.

No names were released.
