UPDATE: LPD release additional details on fatal Anderson Street shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Lexington are in the midst of a homicide investigation after a shooting Monday night on Anderson Street left one person dead.

Officers say they received a report of the shooting around 10:30 p.m. When they arrived, police say they found 26-year-old William Cole lying in the street with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Investigators say a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt was seen leaving the area in a dark colored passenger car.

Police have no additional suspect information or possible motive at this time.

Man shot on Anderson Street, fourth shooting in hours in Lexington

Lexington Police say a man in his 20’s who was shot Monday night has died.

It was the fourth shooting in a matter of hours in Lexington.

The victim was rushed to UK Hospital, where he later died.

The Fayette County coroner has identified him as 26-year-old William Cole.

Police say he was found in the 1100 block of Anderson Street around 10:30 p.m.

Investigators have not released the circumstances that led up to the shooting.

So far, no suspects have been named or arrested, according to police.
