UPDATE: 27-year-old injured in Friday morning shooting dies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 27-year-old Lexington man found shot in the middle of a street early Friday morning died from his wounds.
Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said Cameron Martin died at UK Medical Center at 8:03 a.m. Friday from a gunshot wound.
His death was ruled a homicide, according to Ginn.
According to police, officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 500 block of Ohio Street just after midnight Friday. Dispatchers advised a group of individuals were arguing in the roadway prior to hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
Martin was taken to UK Medical Center.
The homicide is the 26th of the year in Lexington, according to police data. The city set a record with 34 homicides in 2020.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police continue to investigate a shooting that happened overnight that sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said they responded to the 500 block of Ohio Street just after midnight for a report of a shooting victim in the middle of the road. Once on scene, police said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
According to police, several vehicles parked on Ohio Street were also damaged by gunfire.
Police have not released any suspect information.
No word if this incident is related to another shooting Thursday on the same street where a man died. That death is being investigated as a homicide.
