Man sentenced for trying to buy KY child online

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Kansas man who attempted to purchase a Kentucky child online for $500 and drugs earlier this year was sentenced to five years in prison, according to the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General.

Investigators say they began looking into 49-year-old Ernest Merle John Anziana, of Fredonia, Kansas, after they say they received information that Anziana was attempting to solicit sex from an underage child in Kentucky and offered to purchase the child for $500 and 7 grams of methamphetamine.

Anziana was sentenced on five counts of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities and solicitation to commit human trafficking

Investigators says after release from prison, Anziana is required to register as a lifetime sex offender and must complete an approved sex offender treatment program.
