Man rescued after falling from cliff in Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a welfare check led to a cliff rescue on Thursday.

According to the sheriff, when deputies arrived at a home on Four Oaks Road near London, a man took off and ended up falling over a cliff nearby.

East Bernstadt Volunteer Fire Department, London Laurel Rescue Squad, London Fire Department and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County all responded to the scene.

Rescuers say it took three hours to pull the man up from the 75-foot cliff.

He was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
