Man pleads guilty in crash that killed motorcyclist from Lexington

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Authorities say 51-year old Anthony Raymond of London pleaded guilty in connection to a hit-and-run accident that killed a motorcyclist from Lexington in May of last year.

Investigators say on May 7, 2014, Raymond pulled into the path of a motorcycle being driven by 71-year old Randolph Scott at the intersection of Hazel Patch Road and US 25 in Laurel County.  Scott died from his injuries.

Investigators say after the collision, Raymond got out of his car and ran into some nearby woods.  He was later found and arrested.  He was charged with manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a DUI suspended license.

Authorities say on February 26, 2015, Raymond pleaded guilty to manslaughter and trafficking in meth, which was not related to the deadly collision.  Prosecutors recommended 10-years on manslaughter and 5-years on the trafficking meth, to be served concurrently.  Raymond remains in the Laurel County Detention Center.
