Two injured, one seriously, in crash on Man O’ War Blvd. near Alumni Drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A major stretch of Man O’ War Boulevard is closed Thursday after a serious crash left both drivers injured — one of them with life-threatening injuries.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were called just after 7:40 a.m. to an injury collision involving two vehicles between Alumni Drive and Pimlico Parkway.

Police say both drivers were hurt in the crash. One was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Because of the wreck, Man O’ War Boulevard is shut down in both directions in that area. Inner loop traffic is being diverted onto Alumni Drive, while outer loop traffic is being rerouted to Pimlico Parkway.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible and expect delays as crews continue working the scene.

The roadway will remain closed until further notice while the Collision Reconstruction Unit investigates what caused the crash.
