Man leads Powell County Sheriff’s officers on chase

STANTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Powell County man is in custody after attempting to run from deputies, ultimately ending up in a pond.

According to the Powell County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Paul Holder Jr. was initially stopped by a deputy for a traffic violation. During the stop, Holder exited the vehicle and ran toward Fallen Road.

Deputies say he led them through a field before jumping into a pond behind a house. Officers were able to take him into custody shortly after.

Holder is charged with fleeing and evading, tampering with physical evidence, and resisting arrest. He is currently being held at the Powell County Detention Center.
