Man leads deputies on late night chase near Frankfort
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A man led deputies on a vehicle chase Tuesday night.
The driver was identified as Bryant Turner of Sevierville, Tennessee.
The Franklin County dispatch received multiple calls around 10:30 PM of a possible intoxicated driver.
Callers stated that a dark SUV with Florida tags was driving recklessly on I-64 east.
Turner allegedly came close to hitting multiple vehicles and was not staying in his designated lane of travel.
Deputies located the vehicle at mile marker 58 on I-64 east and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The vehicle fled deputies, but never reach speeds over 63 mph, according to investigators.
Most of the pursuit went through a single lane construction zone where workers were reportedly running to avoid being hit by the vehicle.
Multiple construction barrels were hit by the vehicle and the Turner was seen throwing a large cup containing an unknown liquid out the window, according to authorities.
The vehicle got off I-64 at the Midway exit and returned back onto I-64, but now heading west toward Frankfort.
After driving about a mile, Turner pulled over into the emergency lane and was then taken into custody following a minor struggle, according to deputies.
KSP assisted in the pursuit and arrest.
He was arrested for the following charges:
1)Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol (Aggravated)
2)Speeding 8 miles over the limit
3)Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
4)10 Counts of Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree
5)Reckless Driving
6)2 Counts of Criminal Mischief, 3rd Degree
7)Operating on a Suspended Operator’s License
8)Resisting Arrest
9)Criminal Littering
