Suspect in downtown Lexington shooting appears in court

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The man accused in a downtown Lexington shooting was back in court Thursday morning.

According to court records, 25-year-old Alonzo Richardson appeared for a pre-trial conference at 10:30 a.m. His arrest stems from a shooting in May 2024, when officers responded to reports of gunfire near East Main Street and North Limestone.

Police said they found a man at the scene with life-threatening injuries. Richardson was arrested several days later and charged with assault and violating an emergency protective or domestic violence order.

He remains in the Fayette County Detention Center as the case moves forward.
