Man held on $250,000 cash bond in shooting case

HENRY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 28-year-old Henry County man is held on $250,000 cash bond on attempted murder charges stemming from a shooting Saturday morning.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Justin Slater, of Bethlehem, also is charged with theft of a gun in connection with the shooting of 56-year-old Benjamin Wilson which was reported to troopers at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The shooting happened on Bethlehem Road in Henry County. Wilson was shot in the shoulder during a fight with Slater, the KSP said.

Slater was located at his home and arrested without incident, according to troopers. He remains in the Oldham County Detention Center pending an initial appearance Monday in Henry County District Court, according to jail records.

Wilson was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County EMS and Air Evac.
