Man gets 35-years in prison for killing Lexington teen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Deionta Hayes was sentenced to 35-years in prison for killing 16-year old Chaz Black in Lexington in 2012, according to court documents.

Hayes claimed he shot Black in self-defense, but prosecutors say the Henry Clay High School student wasn’t armed when he was gunned down in an apartment on Palumbo Drive.  Police say two other people were wounded in the shooting.
