UPDATE: Man killed in Lexington apartment shooting identified

Police say the victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries

UPDATE 2:12 P.M. – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified a man killed in a homicide Wednesday afternoon that occurred Wednesday afternoon on Quinton Court.

According to the coroner, Kadage Albert Byishimo, of Lexington, died from a gunshot wound. The Lexington Police Department is now investigating his death as a homicide.

According to police, officers responded to the 300 block of Quinton Court just before 3:30 p.m. for a report of a person who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located a 38-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Detectives are asking residents in the area to please check their home surveillance video and contact the Lexington Police Department if they have any footage that could help in the investigation.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say a man was found shot at an apartment on Quinton Court around 3:18 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

According to officers, the victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
