Man flees police through sewage-filled crawlspace
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police found themselves chasing a man through water and sewage on June 23, after he reportedly ripped up the pipes under a kitchen sink and fled through the crawlspace.
Frankfort Police say they got a call from a woman who told them her boyfriend was holding her against her will. When they arrived, police say the woman let them into her house and explained the situation.
They found out that she had initially invited 40-year-old Charles E. Mygrant into her home, and he later refused multiple times to leave.
Officers said the man had cut a hole under the kitchen sink, and the torn-up pipes had leaked sewage and water into the crawlspace, which he was attempting to use to escape the house.
Mygrant allegedly refused to come out, so officers followed him into the sewage, arresting him. He was served with an outstanding warrant.
He is now being charged with first degree criminal mischief, second degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth degree domestic violence for minor injuries, and second degree criminal mischief.
