Man facing slew of charges, accused of leading police on chase at a Madison County golf course

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A golf course was damaged and a man in a whole lot of trouble. Derek Hicks says he was out golfing Wednesday when he noticed a bizarre scene. A tractor and multiple police cruisers were driving on the golf course in Berea. It was an active pursuit all caught on camera.

Hicks filmed the incident while on his golf cart, trying to get out of the way.

Jarold Wehrle is the man accused of driving that tractor. According to his arrest report, Wehrle is facing a slew of charges including 1st degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, 1st degree fleeing or evading, 1st degree wanton endangerment, 1st degree criminal mischief, 2nd fleeing or evading police on foot, resisting arrest, disregarding a stop sign, 2nd degree disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, and failure to appear.

Berea police say someone phoned in a tip on Wehrle’s whereabouts and say he had a warrant out.

He was booked in the Madison County Detention Center.
