Man facing murder charges is in court for competency hearing

SOMERSET, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Pulaski County man accused of murder was back in court Thursday morning for a competency hearing.

Investigators say John Stacy of Somerset assaulted a woman at gunpoint in 2022, before a shooting later that day on Paradise Lake Drive left one person dead.

Stacy, who was already a person of interest, was later stopped by a deputy and taken into custody. He faces charges including murder and attempted murder.
