Man drowns Sunday at Great Crossing Dam
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Georgetown man drowned Sunday afternoon at the Great Crossing Dam.
The 39-year-old man was floating on an inner tube when he went over the dam and was caught in the boil immediately below the structure, according to Fish & Wildlife Program Manager Nathan Brooks.
Scott County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the drowning Sunday around 1:20 p.m. and attempted CPR until Scott County EMS arrived, according to Sgt. Eddie Hart. The man was taken to Georgetown Hospital.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife will now lead the investigation.
