Man drives stolen vehicle into Fayette Mall
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington Police arrested 20-year-old Shaheem Anderson Friday evening after he drove a stolen vehicle into Fayette Mall.
Officials say they were dispatched at 6:29 p.m. to the Transit Center on E Vine Street for reports of a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, but the suspect continued driving, police did not follow.
Officers then located the vehicle in Fayette Mall at 9:30 p.m., the mall was closed and there were no reported injuries.
Anderson now faces multiple charges:
- Receiving stolen property (auto over $10,000)
- Burglary 3rd degree
- Two counts of fleeing and evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle)
- Reckless driving
- Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
Anderson was taken to the hospital after he was arrested for narcotics consumption. He is now being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
