Man, dog escape Lexington house fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A man and his dog escaped an overnight house fire in Lexington Tuesday.

The fire took place on Suburban Court and started around 3 in the morning, according to fire officials.

The man who lives at the residence says it was being renovated.

The heating, air conditioning, and ventilation were all turned off. He was using space heaters.

He says he woke up to smoke coming from the attic.

Fire officials are still investigating the cause of fire.
