Man dies after being hit by car in Madison County

Madison County, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man is dead after being struck by a car in Madison County Monday night.

The Madison County coroner says it happened along U.S. 25, also known as Mount Vernon Road, about two miles outside of Berea.

He says a 44-year-old man was hit and killed instantly.

He says the driver did stop and come back and that there were witnesses.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released because his family hasn’t been notified yet.

He is the second pedestrian to die in the county Monday.

56-year-old Eileen M Powell of Richmond was killed earlier in the day when she was struck by a pickup truck that was turning onto Berea Road.
