UPDATE: Man dead after Lexington shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner says 29-year-old Charles Shryock has died after a shooting in Lexington early Saturday morning.

Police say shots were fired around 5:30 a.m. at 3rd and Race.

Neighbors say the area isn’t safe and Shryock was just on his way to get cigarettes with his husband when he got caught in the crossfire.
When he was shot in the chest, friends say he ran back home to 2nd street to get help.
Those who knew him said he was a sweetheart who never bothered anyone and kept a smile on his face.

Shryock died at the hospital.

Police say they have arrested two men and are trying to figure out if they were involved.
