Man charged with stealing school bus, DUI
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A London, Ky. man, with an outstanding warrant from out of state, is facing more charges in Laurel County, for allegedly stealing a school bus and driving under the influence.
According to a release, London police officers arrested 26-year old John Robert-Benjamin Driscoll Tuesday night (3/12), after receiving a report of a wrecked school bus in a ditch at the intersection of Middleground Way and Sublimity School Road.
Police say Driscoll matched the description given by a witness of a man, who crawled out of the bus and was running toward S. Laurel Road.
During the investigation, police say one of their officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Driscoll.
The release says Driscoll admitted to having been drinking, and admitted stealing the bus from South Laurel High School.
He was taken to the Laurel County Detention center, facing a number of charges.
Driscoll was also served an outstanding warrant from Indiana.
