Man Charged With Murder After Crash

A Shelby County man was charged with murder after a crash that killed his passenger in October of 2011.

State Police said Lonnie Monroe was arrested Monday. He is accused of murder and DUI, among other charges.

On October 9, officials said Monroe was driving a tractor trailer on Fishersville Road in Shelby County.

We’re told he was passing a stopped mail carrier when he lost control of his truck, left the roadway and overturned.

His passenger, James Jacob, was killed in the crash.
