Man charged with DUI and assaulting grandmother

EAST BERNSTADT, Ky. (WTVQ) —  According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a complaint that a man had been fighting with his grandmother, Monday afternoon.

Deputies say they arrived on the scene to find 26 year old Ricky Peters had already left the scene in his grandmother’s car, after striking her across the face.

Deputies located Peters and the car in a neighbor’s driveway, stuck in a snowbank and trying to get out.

Upon questioning, Peters admitted to smoking marijuana and taking several pills.

Ricky Peters was arrested at 4:53 p.m., charged with 4^th degree assault, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and numerous other traffic and licensing violations.
