Man charged with attempted murder, domestic violence in shooting

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 52-year-old Georgetown man is charged with domestic violence attempted murder in connection with a shooting late Thursday night.

Georgetown Police say officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Pocahontas Trail at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday for an assault with a gun.

When officers arrived, they found and detained Larry Dale Gibson standing in front of the home.

Following investigation, police say they charged Gibson with attempted murder and first-degree assault – domestic violence.

No bond had been set as of Friday afternoon and he is scheduled for an appearance in Scott County District Court at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
