Man charged with sexual abuse and assault involving child

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Laurel County man with an immigration detainer, is accused of sexually abusing and assaulting a child, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

When a local law enforcement agency arrests someone who Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) believes may be deportable, ICE often issues an immigration detainer, or hold, which instructs the local police to hold the individual so ICE may assume physical custody of the person.

Deputies say the detainer is for 34-year old Antonio Ramirez-Lopez, of London.  He’s accused of touching a child inappropriately and hitting the juvenile in the face with an open hand, causing a nose bleed and swelling to the child’s nose and upper lip.

Investigators say 28-year old Bridgett Sizemore, of London, is accused of knowing about the alleged sexual abuse and doing nothing about it.

Ramirez-Lopez and Sizemore were arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
