Man charged with reckless homicide in inmate’s death
HICKORY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Paducah man has been charged in connection to the death of a Graves County jail inmate, according to KSP.
Investigators say 33-year old Mark Basham had methamphetamine hidden inside his body that wasn’t detected when he was booked into the jail on April 19, 2019.
State Police say Basham gave meth to 50-year old Rodney Evans and other inmates in his cell. Evans ended up dying at an area hospital after being found unresponsive in the cell.
Investigators say on Sunday, April 28, Basham was charged with Reckless Homicide, Promoting Contraband 1st Degree and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree methamphetamine.
