Man charged in slaying that rocked small town

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police arrested 26-year-old Arturo Perez in Rockcastle County Tuesday night.

Perez is accused of killing 54-year-old Famey Hellard, the owner of ‘The Glitter Box’ in Mount Vernon.

She was found dead in her store in September.

According to the booking report, Perez is now in a detox cell assignment.

Perez is charged with murder, robbery, and tampering with physical evidence.
