Man charged in Lexington Moped hit and run due in court
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Lexington man is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run crash that sent a pedestrian to the hospital.
According to Lexington Police, 27-year-old Adrun Bennett was arrested Tuesday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid, and operating a moped without a license.
Investigators say Bennett is accused of hitting a pedestrian just before 9 a.m. near the intersection of West Loudon Avenue and North Broadway, then leaving the scene. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say the city’s Real-Time Intelligence Center helped track down Bennett following the crash.
Court records show Bennett is scheduled for a 1 p.m. arraignment Wednesday.
