Man charged in deadly carjacking

JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man accused of killing a woman during a violent carjacking in Jackson County has been charged with murder. According to London Police, Michael Edwards was arrested Saturday in a field in Laurel County, near the Jackson County line.

Authorities say a search was launched for Edwards after he allegedly dragged and ran over a woman with her own car, killing her, as she tried to stop him from stealing the vehicle. During his time on the run, Edwards is also accused of pointing a gun at a person during a home invasion.

Edwards is now facing multiple charges, including murder, in connection with the tragic incident. The investigation is ongoing.
