Man charged with breaking into vehicles in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Surveillance video helped Lexington police catch a suspect in several vehicle break-ins.

Investigators say 26-year-old Travis Asher was arrested last week and charged with stealing from multiple vehicles in the downtown area.

According to police, Asher was identified as the suspect with the help of surveillance video.

They say when they caught up with Asher, he had several items that had been reported stolen, including a victim’s social security card and another victim’s prescription medication.

Police say the thefts occurred on Virginia Avenue, Mill, Upper and Short streets.
