Man charged with 179 counts of animal cruetly

ELLIOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – An Elliott County man is facing 179 counts of animal cruelty.

Kentucky State Police says it received several complaints of animal cruelty involving 67-year-old Randy Skaggs, of Sandy Hook.

During the investigation, it was determined that several animals had not been vaccinated against rabies.

Skaggs was arrested and charged with 179 counts of 2nd degree animal cruelty and 179 counts of dogs to be vaccinated against rabies.

He was booked into the Big Sandy Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Department of Agriculture.

The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
