Man Attempts To Break-In Home While On Moonshine
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office says Lonnie Paul, 67, admitted he had been drinking moonshine when he reportedly tried to break down the front door of a house.
Investigators say when that didn’t work he broke through a window with a knife in his hand.
He was greeted by the homeowner who had a shotgun.
The homeowner held Paul at gunpoint, still hanging out the window, until deputies arrived.
The homeowner told deputies he was protecting a two year old in the house.
The Sheriff says Paul’s lucky to be alive.
He is charged with first-degree attempted burglary, second-degree wanton endangerment, alcohol intoxication in a public place ("AI"), menacing, third-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree criminal mischief.
