Man asleep in car arrested after drugs, cash found

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man asleep in his car lands in jail on drug trafficking

According to Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck, 52-year-old Lannie D. Dobbs, of 1105 South 2nd St. in Louisville, was arrested on drug charges by Deputy Branson Patterson and Deputy David Campbell on Denny Lane in Pulaski County.

Deputies discovered a parked vehicle at some storage units on Denny Lane and found Dobbs asleep in the car, Speck said in a release.

While investigating the suspicious vehicle, the deputies observed marijuana inside a blue bag inside the car. Deputies also located items that are normally associated with the sale of drugs, including baggies that contained a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine and digital scales, according to the sheriff.

A total of $3,371.00 in cash was seized as well as Xanax, Speck said.

Dobbs is charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (more than 2 grams of Methamphetamine; Possession of Marijuana; Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess; Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree (Drug Unspecified)

Due to the felony charges involved, this case will be sent to a future Pulaski County Grand Jury, the sheriff said.

This case remains under investigation by Deputy Branson Patterson and Deputy David Campbell.
