Man arrested for fighting deputy

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a man accused of trying to attack an off duty deputy is now behind bars.

According to the sheriff, the deputy was working security for Hickory Hills Apartments Friday night when he found 26-year-old Damon Johnson from Louisville intoxicated in a grassy area between two buildings.

Johnson reportedly gave him a false name and information.

Then the deputy tried to arrest him for public intoxication and Johnson is accused of trying to fight the deputy.

Frankfort police officers came to help.

They say they found Xanax pills and a small bag of weed on him.
