Man arrested after dragging deputy with his vehicle
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)-A man was arrested in Laurel County Saturday after dragging a deputy alongside his vehicle.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office that 42 year old Roger Sizamore was stopped by authorities Friday afternoon off Prewitt Cemetery Road in connection to a domestic violence incident from January 30th.
Once stopped, Sizamore allegedly attempted to drive away from the scene while a deputy reached into his vehicle, dragging the deputy and injuring him.
The Sheriff’s Office says he continued to fight with authorities during his arrest and report drugs and needles were found in his vehicle.
Sizamore is facing charges including resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and multiple drug possession charges, in addition to his previous warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court.
A woman was also arrested during the incident.
25 year-old Kayla Philpot had another person’s social security card and is facing charges for giving the officer incorrect personal information.
Both were taken to the Laurel County detention center.
