Man arrested at scene of house fire in London

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man has been arrested in connection to a fire at a vacant home in London.

London police say they were dispatched to the home on Meyers Baker Road at about 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.  Officers say the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived, and that they found Frank J. Noe, 32, who had run outside to escape the fire.

According to police, Noe told them that he had entered the home without permission earlier in the morning.  Officers say Noe admitted to using his lighter to start a fire in a wooden drawer inside the home in order to “have a little light.”  Noe told them he later awoke and was surrounded by flames.

Officers say Noe had an existing warrant out for his arrest.  He was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center and charged with criminal mischief and trespassing.
