Man arrested after road rage shooting in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – One person has been arrested following a road rage incident involving gunfire earlier Thursday morning in Lexington.
According to police, officers were dispatched around 9 a.m. to the area of Appian Court and Centre Parkway for a report of a road rage incident with shots fired. When officers arrived, they learned the suspect had been driving at a high rate of speed and nearly caused a collision with another vehicle.
Police say the suspect then pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Juan Godoy. He was arrested and charged with one count of wanton endangerment in the first degree, receiving stolen property involving a firearm, operating a vehicle with an expired operator’s license, and two counts of criminal mischief in the first degree.
Godoy is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
