Man Arrested After Failed Bank Robbery Attempt

Police said things didn’t go according to plan for a would-be bank robber in Lexington.

Derrius King, 25, was taken into custody at the American Founders Bank on Walden Drive just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

According to court documents, King was approached by police, who said they found a handgun concealed in his waistband.

They said they also found a “demand” note, latex gloves and an additional magazine for the gun.

Officials also said the gun had been stolen.
