Man arrested after dog shot to death in Boyle County
BOYLE COUNTY, KY (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A man has been arrested and charged with animal torture after allegedly shooting a family dog to death while intoxicated. Kenneth Wingard, 28, was taken into custody on Tuesday following an investigation by the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, Wingard admitted to shooting the dog at least four times while he was drunk. The incident occurred at a home on Needmore Road, where Wingard was staying with the family.
Investigators reported that Wingard allegedly tried to conceal the crime by hiding the dog’s body in the floorboard of his truck after the animal died.
Wingard is now facing serious charges for his alleged actions.
