Man arrested after chase, crash in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A suspect is in custody after leading deputies on a chase that ended with a crash in Clay County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators say 21-year-old Skyler Hubbard was spotted by a deputy Monday on North Highway 421 in a vehicle reported stolen from either Clay or Laurel County.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hubbard refused to stop when the deputy attempted a traffic stop, instead speeding away and initiating a chase. The deputy eventually called off the pursuit for safety reasons.

Deputies later found Hubbard after he crashed the stolen vehicle into a ditch on Hoskins Road, according to authorities.

Hubbard was arrested at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
