Man arrested after car chase on I-64

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A car chase involving a stolen vehicle ended with one arrest and significant traffic delays in Central Kentucky on Thursday morning.

According to Georgetown Police, Kentucky State Police (KSP) began pursuing a stolen vehicle on I-75 just before 10 a.m. During the chase, the driver reportedly drove on the wrong side of the road, creating a dangerous situation. The pursuit came to an end when the suspect crashed on the eastbound side of the I-64/I-75 interchange.

The crash caused a significant backup along I-64, but officials confirmed the roadway has since reopened.

The suspect, who is accused of driving under the influence, was arrested by KSP. Authorities reported no injuries in the incident.
