Man accused of trying to run over police officers

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police have a man they say tried to run down two officers in Lexington earlier this month.

Those officers were answering a call about a person who appeared to be unresponsive in a parked truck on Winchester Road on September 9th.

They discovered the truck was stolen and, as they were talking to the driver, 38-year-old Jeremiah Hager, court documents say he started the truck and drove it toward the officers.

Documents go on to say they jumped out of the way and Hager took off, hitting two cars then driving away.

He is charged with two counts wanton endangerment of a police officer along with several other charges.
