Man accused of shooting ex girlfriend in court
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Lexington man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend in front of their three children in 2022 was back in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
Police say 35-year-old Devin Lovette broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home on Briarwood Circle and opened fire, seriously injuring her. Investigators say he then threatened to kill her if she reported the shooting.
According to court records, Lovette allegedly cut off his ankle monitor after the attack and fled to Chicago, where he was arrested earlier this month.
Lovette is charged with burglary, assault, wanton endangerment, and tampering with physical evidence.
