Man accused of sexually abusing a child back in court
MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Madison County teacher accused of sexually abusing a child under the age of 12 appeared in court Wednesday morning at 9:30 for a preliminary hearing.
Forty-year-old Charles Hamilton was arrested in October and remains in the Madison County Detention Center without bond. Investigators say the school district was notified back in September that an investigation had been opened, and Hamilton was immediately placed on leave.
Hamilton previously taught at Boonesborough Elementary and also coached girls’ soccer at Caudill Middle School. The district confirms he has not returned to teaching or coaching since being placed on leave.
