Man Accused Of Poisoning His Wife’s Coffee Pleads Guilty To Lesser Charge
A Madison County man who was accused of trying to kill his wife by poisoning her coffee, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge on Thursday, according to a report in the Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper.
The report said William Cain, 56, who was initially charged with attempted murder, pleaded guilty to attempted manslaughter.
The newspaper reported prosecutors recommended a six and a half year prison sentence.
Cain is scheduled to be sentenced February 14, 2013.
