Man accused of killing Scott County Deputy scheduled to change plea
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Steven Sheangshang, accused of fatally shooting Scott County Deputy Caleb Conley during a traffic stop on I-75 in May 2023, is scheduled for a change of plea hearing in Scott County Circuit Court on Wednesday, according to court records.
Sheangshang, 46, was indicted on charges including murder of a police officer, robbery, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He has been held without bond since his arrest.
Deputy Conley, 35, was a four-year veteran of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. His death marked the first line-of-duty death in the department’s history.
