Man accused of hitting another man in the head with a hammer

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Williamsburg Police arrested 25-year old James Mays after they say he hit another man in the head with a hammer during a fight.

Police say it happened on Morton Street on Saturday night.

They say Mays also pointed a gun at the man.

Investigators say Mays was charged with assault and wanton endangerment.

He was taken to the Whitley County Detention Center.
